Samsung’s latest device – the Galaxy Fold – is sold out in the UAE even before it has gone on sale to the public.
The world's largest smartphone maker spent nearly eight years developing the Galaxy Fold, but had to hold its launch in April after reviewers reported screen problems within days of use.
In the UAE, the delay did little to temper demand, with pre-orders for the device snapped up in an unprecedented three days.
Samsung said it will now start a second round of pre-orders for the Galaxy Fold in the UAE on October 17, from its website.Concierge service
UAE consumers lucky enough to secure a pre-ordered Galaxy Fold will get their device delivered to them through a concierge starting from October 17.
The concierge will hand-deliver the device to customers, offer training on how to operate it and answer any questions the customer might have. Customers will also have access to a dedicated expert on call 24x7, according to Samsung.Public sale
As to when the device will actually go on sale in stores around the country, Samsung said it is sticking with pre-orders for now, with no actual date for its release in the UAE.For all the latest tech news from the UAE and Gulf countries, follow us on Twitter and Linkedin, like us on Facebook and subscribe to our YouTube page, which is updated daily.
